12 December - The Denver Post tells the effect that the cult harassing the electors is having on them....
"If McCain had edged out Obama in Colorado, then the nine Republican electors would have voted. Even so, many of Colorado's electors — like others around the country — have received letters and e-mails asking them not to support Obama because, the writers claim, he was born in Kenya and therefore does not meet the U.S. Constitution's requirement that a president be a "natural-born citizen." The letters contend Obama's birth certificate showing he was born in Hawaii is a forgery.
The allegations have been repeatedly debunked by the Obama campaign and news outlets.
Some Colorado electors said they looked up information about Obama's birth to assure themselves the rumors were not accurate. Others dismissed the letters but expressed irritation with the writers.
"I took them seriously enough that I was concerned that there are that many nutty people in the country making depressing, absurd allegations," said elector Camilla Auger. "There are so many problems in the country right now, we need to work together."

15 December - Dr. Orly Taitz takes another hit off her patients nitrous oxide and comes up with yet another stupid idea - get the current President to rule Obama ineligible.

17 December - And Dr. Orly Taitz, DDS, Esq., is NOT happy about Justice Kennedy dismissing it either. Her solution? She plans to resubmit to Chief Justice Roberts, to "call out" the ones she thinks are hiding in conference.
"I am writing an open letter to Chief Justice Roberts, I am resubmitting the petition to him. I could use an easy route and resubmit to Thomas and Scalia, but we already know that they are voting for the constitution. My concern is that twice during conferences the full court voted against the petitions, de facto against the constitution. At least 4 Justices had to vote yes for the petition to go to the oral argument. Since it didn't go there, it means that not only liberal Justices: Souter, Stevens, Bryer and Ginsburg and swing vote Kennedy voted against, but one of the conservative Justices: Roberts or Alito voted against as well, and I decided to zero in and see, which one is it. I need to resubmit not to Thomas or Scalia, but to either Roberts or Alito and by process of elimination, I will know which one is it. He will not be able to hide behind the conference anymore. I decided to write to Roberts. It will be an open letter, that will be posted on the Internet, it will be read at the numerous radio stations around the country, including the radio stations around all the military bases, it will be in the video form on U-tube, the whole country will be watching him. Roberts will not be able to hide, he will have to show to the whole nation, whether he is for the constitution of this country or whether he is ready to tear it apart in favor of some new world order conceived by a few bankers and the trilateral commission."
Dr. Orly also seems somewhat confused about the entire "separation of church and state" thing:
"Additionally, Roberts has a duty to swear in the new president. This duty can be seen as a ministerial duty.
Lastly, the candidate needs to put his hand on a bible, that says that bear false witness is an abomination and I wonder, how Roberts, a Catholic, feels about it, based on all the massive fraud committed by Obama."
Swearing in the president is not a ministerial duty, and there's nothing in US law or the US constitution that says the president to be MUST place their their hand on a bible. It may be tradition, but it's not law. Besides which, there is no credible evidence of any fraud taking place, except in the minds of the cultists.
Dr. Orly loses it completely at the end. I suspect a California Bar complaint in her future......not to mention possible visits by unhappy people from the Secret Service:

17 December - Berg's case gets more confusing. The docket says it's been distributed to conference for 9 January 2009 - but also says it was denied by Justice Kennedy.

For all intents and purposes, this is a distinction with no discernable difference when it comes to the eventual outcome -- I still feel that the odds of any of these cases being heard on their merits are slim to none to completely insurmountable."
17 December - And the latest great white hope floating around is the rumour that Rep. John Linder (R-GA) plans to challenge the electoral vote in Congress.
"I read a post the other day that a Freeper got from Congressman John Linder, Georgia, stating that he would stand and object to Obama if he doesn't show proof of constitutional eligibility.
I emailed Mr. Linder and asked if he did indeed write that email and if he was serious about holding Obama to task on something as serious as this.
A few moments ago I received a phone call from Congressman Linder's office confirming that he intends to do exactly that and he is just as intent as us on verifying Obama's eligibility."
Even if Rep. Linder is going to be this stupid, he would need to find a Senator to also sign off on it. And I suspect any such move would be political suicide.
17 December - Dr. Orly's cavity creeps have a new mission - to drill into the nerves of Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Arizona). Seems Sen. Kyl had the nerve to say that Obama (gasps) meets the constitutional requirements for presidential office Worse, he cited Snopes!

One of the commenters declares their distaste by saying "By their failure to act, the blood will be on their hands.". Which, with Dr. Orly's previous call for an uprising if their demands aren't meant, is more than slightly disturbing.
Dr. Orly and her cavity creeps are starting to look like the extreme or dominionist wing of the Cult of the COLB.
17 December - The ever-daffy "Citizen Wells" produces one of his usual daily word salads forecasting gloom and doom, dogs and cats living together, mass riots, etc., unless Obama is removed AT ONCE.
The lastest is the idea that since, according to him:
1) Obama is supposedly ineligible to be president
2) Electors were informed Obama was ineligible
3) Electors told the Cult of the COLB to pound sand and voted for Obama anyway,
Therefore, the electors certifications are invalid and the electors should be prosecuted.

The main problem I see in this statement is that at no point has any of these "birthers" EVER given anything even remotely close to "compelling evidence". * Ignorance is no excuse. Everyone involved was forewarned. Voting party line over law will not be tolerated.
* There are consequences for false attesting.
* One of the consequences is that the votes of many Electors are now null and void.
* Impeachment, recall, firing, criminal charges forthcoming?
No, they're valid for the simple reason that Barack Obama meets the qualifications to be President, despite every attempt the cult to claim otherwise. You can wish and claim the sky is purple and birds fly backwards and upside down all you want, but it doesn't change reality.
Then again, I don't think most of the people pimping these road apples would know reality if it gnawed them on their legs in the middle of the supermarket. 18 December - Over at the far right "News With Views", writer Devvy Kidd pens a diatribe called "Impostor president Obama: Victory will be short lived"

The weirdity comes when she cites the Wong Kim Ark case of the 1890's

His parents were subjects of the Emperor of China even though they were permanently domiciled in California. Ark left the U.S. for a short period of time for a visit to China. Upon his return, he was denied entry back into the U.S. because he was not a natural born citizen at birth. This was challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court.
The justices gave this case a thorough, historical scrubbing and in the end their decision was against Wong Kim Ark: "<>In other words, the fourteenth amendment does not exclude from citizenship by birth children born in the United States of parents permanently located therein, and who might themselves become citizens; nor, on the other hand, does it arbitrarily make citizens of children born in the United States of parents who, according to the will of their native government and of this government, are and must remain aliens. Tested by this rule, Wong Kim Ark never became and is not a citizen of the United States, and the order of the district court should be reversed."
Devvy Kidd fails at understanding reading or history. Because the Findlaw article she cites shows that the majority opinion of the Supreme Court was:
"VII. Upon the facts agreed in this case, the American citizenship which Wong Kim Ark acquired by birth within the United States has not been lost or taken away by anything happening since his birth. No doubt he might himself, after coming of age, renounce this citizenship, and become a citizen of the country of his parents, or of any other country; for by our law, as solemnly declared by congress, 'the right of expatriation is a natural and inherent right of all people,' and 'any declaration, instruction, opinion, order or direction of any officer of the United States, which denies, restricts, impairs or questions the right of expatriation, is declared inconsistent wth the fundamental principles of the republic.' Rev. St. 1999, re-enacting Act July 27, 1868, c. 249, 1 ( 15 Stat. 223, 224). Whether any act of himself, or of his parents, during his minority, could have the same effect, is at least doubtful. But it would be out of place to pursue that inquiry, inasmuch as it is expressly agreed that his residence has always been in the United States, and not elsewhere; that each of his temporary visits to China, the one for some months when he was about 17 years old, and the otherf or something like a year about the time of his coming of age, was made with the intention of returning, and was followed by his actual return, to the United States; and 'that said Wong Kim Ark has not, either by himself or his parents acting [169 U.S. 649, 705] for him, ever renounced his allegiance to the United States, and that he has never done or committed any act or thing to exclude him therefrom.'
The evident intention, and the necessary effect, of the submission of this case to the decision of the court upon the facts agreed by the parties, were to present for determination the single question, stated at the beginning of this opinion, namely, whether a child born in the United States, of parents of Chinese descent, who, at the time of his birth, are subjects of the emperor of China, but have a permanent domicile and residence in the United States, and are there carrying on business, and are not employed in any diplomatic or official capacity under the emperor of China, becomes at the time of his birth a citizen of the United States. For the reasons above stated, this court is of opinion that the question must be answered in the affirmative."
What Ms. Devvy cites was the Dissenting opinion in this case, from the two Justices that believed citizenship should be denied. In fact, Wong Kim Ark was ruled a Natural Born Citizen of the United States by a 6 to 2 decision of the Supreme Court, Devvy Kid obviously doesn't know what the hell she's talking about - just like every other "expert" in the Cult of the COLB.
But that's not surprising, the entire cult is full of fail, but they keep lapping up the flavour-aid and hoping the next "great white hope" is the one that proves their paranoid racist delusions as the reality they so desperately want it to be.

not a fan of puma - The problem is the "birfers" don't really sit down to read the rulings against them. It's easier to pick and choose selectively - or just ignore it and claim the judge ruled against them because he's part of the Obama conspiracy.
Case in point on the selectiveness was the ruling on Wong Kim Ark that Devvy Kidd wrote about. She claimed the Supreme Court ruled against Wong Kim Ark based on what she read - and didn't read the entire ruling to note what she read was the minority dissent, and that the court found in favour of Wong Kim Ark's citizenship.
Reading seems to be too hard for the cultists.

For all the blathering about the Constitution, some of these people seem to have no understanding of it at all.
I mean how can someboody who claims to understand and care about the Constitution seriously ask the FCC to:

But having the U.S. government "forbid" the press to call somebody a cultist, or having it "make" the press cover some story, well, that's just A-O.K., right?
These people really worry me. I know I've brought this up here ad nauseam, but I fear that somebody's going to try to pull a stunt like those idiots in top hats in Tennessee, but do it with a little better planning and far less fanfare. We need not to forget that Oswald was a demented loser, just like a lot of these assholes. And a demented loser with a cause and just enoough on the ball to buy a gun and hide somewhere at the right time can fuck things up for everybody.
I'm not so worried about Taitz herself, or Texas Nutjob, since, as has been brought up here before, they're likely under somebody's eye. Nor is it even their freakish commenters, though they scare me rather badly, too, even though I hope somebody's keeping an eye on them, too. No, what really scares me is whoever might be reading those sites, but who might have enough sense not to chime in, but rather to just hang out, read, believe and get worked up into doing something to "save" the country.

This is, as Gordon Allport stated, "anti-locution," which is the first stage of an evolving social prejudice. I would love to determine the driving influences behind this ongoing insanity. Is it simply just a few kooks that are acting independently, or is this something more nefarious, with a single purpose?
The Internet provides an excellent opportunity to quickly magnify the voice of extremely small groups, so it has become the chosen venue. It is perceived as anonymous (although most of us know that is not necessarily true), so it allows those desiring a certain outcome to assume multiple identities, hence the magnifying effect. It also provides a certain sense of empowerment, where anyone can become an expert in any topic.
The anonymity we demand in cyber-space has created a fairy-tale-land where the line between truth and falsehood is blurred. It allows those of ignoble purpose to prey on the madding crowds.

My feeling, and it's only a guess, is that there are a few--how few I guess we can't tell--people who for some wacked out reason deeply fear an Obama presidency, and who would like to somehow cripple it or end it.
I think their deepest fantasy would involve him somehow either not becoming president or losing the office, and for many of these creeps, I think they'd be as happy to see that happen by him dying as any other way.
I rather think that at least some of them are truly hoping that some lone nut will do the job so they don't have to, and their hands will, therefore be "clean", even if they've incited whatever unspeakable calamity might happen. After all, if al they're doing is talking or writing, well, then, they really aren't to blame if somebody "misunderstands" what it is they're saying and takes things a little too far.
Again, all this is only guesswork, but from what I've seen from some of the more lucid and cynical leaders, I'm betting it isn't an altogether bad guess...

I also need a talking down. I really, truly hope that various security agencies are looking into these unhinged freaks and monitoring them closely and realize that there is a serious concern here, as these nuts can't accept reality and every time they get proven wrong, it just seems to move them more and more towards wanting to take violent action.

You know, I don't want to second guess the Secret Service, who have a tough enough job without boneheads like me yammering on about how they need to do this or that... But still, I wish somebody would just come out and say, "We know there are a lot of nuts out there, and some of them really could do some serious harm. But we have an eye oon them. We know who they are and we're watching them."
I'd feel so much better. I mean, maybe they're already deep into all kinds of investigations, and that would maybe screw some of them up if the nuts knew they were not anonymous. But on the other hand, maybe something like that would scare a lot of them into giving up on whatever awful plots they might be working on.
And, as I said, it would make me feel a lot better. I've never had a president die in office in my lifetime, and I'm not looking forward to living through it happening.

I deeply fear the Obama presidency and I'm not wacked out. I think true conservative policies are the best hope for the future of the United States. And I don't mean the last 8 years of Bush who I don't think is a true conservative.
So the idea of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party having control of two branches of the federal government and possibly the third if Obama gets enough court picks is very scary to me.
That being said, my side lost the election fair and square and I hope I'm wrong about Obama and he turns out to be a great president. But yes I find him very scary and one does not have to be "wacked out" to hold that opinion.

Brandon - I understand what you are saying. I don't agree with you, but I respect your views and how you presented them. Personally, I'm a pragmatic centrist myself and just want to see stuff finally get done and addressed in this country, instead of continuously deteriorating further as the result of ever-more-partisan bickering.
What I would love is if you could define what "conservative policies" mean to you, as you stated that they are a hope for the future. You always hear this term thrown around, but other than conservatives looking backwards and trying to "invoke Reagan", what does it mean in the 21st century? I don't think the GOP has any idea and that a lot of people who call themselves "conservatives" just like the fuzzy concept of what they think it means (fiscal responsibility, lean government, etc), but when do you ever see those things in practice and how do they apply in today's world? I agree that what conservatives say they want and how they operate seem to be two completely contradictory things (see 8 years of Bush Admin & until recently 14 years of GOP dominated congress)....
And to every one else - I sure hope you are right and these crazies are being properly monitored by the right people in security. I don't know if anything can serve as a successful "talking down" until we safely get further into 2009 without incident. If anything, we should continue to do our part to monitor those groups here...even if our tool of choice is just to provide snark and shed light on their sickness...

Icke was even more of a sensation across the pond because he was once a well-known (and quite respected) TV sports commentator and soccer player, so when whatever mental illness it is that's beset him became more and more apparent (the only non-clinically insane people I've heard spouting theories like his wilder ones were off their heads on acid or whatever), it was quite disturbing all round.
I think that latest Tedbot screed definitely crosses a line. Either he has great (and unfounded) faith in proxy servers or he's a complete idiot. Well, the latter goes without saying, I suppose, but I think you know what I mean.

They are now operating under the completely deluded notion that SCOTUS is "holding on" to the Berg case until after Jan 8 because once the electoral votes are read Berg will magically have standing! They seem to think SCOTUS will then immediately overturn the election and arrest Obama. No joke, this is what they are on about over there.
They are not going to take SCOTUS's denial of Berg's petition well at all.

Hopefully if it is true then I can only hope, she plans to take Bambi out once shes secured the VP nod, perhaps Hillary realises its the only way shes going to get into that position. Its what i would do. Slip in the nominee backdoor then shoot him between the eyes."

Request to refile Petition Lightfoot v Bowen with chief Justice John Roberts
Dear Justice Roberts,
This is an open cover letter and it is being posted on the Internet, you-tube and will be read on a number of radio stations, particularly radio stations around military bases, forwarded to Congress, Senate, Governors of the States and mass media. This legal action, as 20 other actions filed in the past few months is seeking Judicial intervention due to the fact that Mr. Barack Obama, whose father was a Kenyan- British citizen, is not a Natural Born Citizen and is not eligible to be the President of this country. It also states, that Mr. Obama did not prove his citizenship at all, since the state of Hawaii allows issuance of Hawaiian Birth certificates to foreign born children of Hawaiian residents and there is mounting evidence that Mr. Obama was not born in Hawaii, whereby he will not be a citizen at all. The Plaintiffs in this action are a vice-presidential candidate on the ballot, electors and voters. Majority of the plaintiffs have served years of their lives in the US military and risked their lives, pursuant to their oath to defend the Constitution of this country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The plaintiffs and other members of the US military are deeply concerned about the fact that none of the cases related to Mr. Obama’s lack of eligibility was heard on the merits.
The plaintiffs are also concerned about the following: You have recorded a program “Conversations with Chief Justice Roberts”. Numerous high schools students were flown in to DC and participated in discussion about the Constitution, law and the Supreme Court with you. This program was fully funded by the Annenberg foundation, is it clearly states on the video released, and it appears that as a Chief Justice of the Supreme court you consider Annenberg to be a reputable organization, supporting the Constitution and you support their efforts. The problem with it, is that Annenberg has been employing on their Annenberg Challenge board William Ayers, a non-repentant terrorist that participated in bombing of police headquarters in 1970, Capitol building in 1971 and Pentagon in 1972. As late as 2001, Mr. Ayers stated in NY times interview: “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel I didn’t do enough”. From 1995 the chairman of Annenberg Challenge was none else, but Mr. Barack Obama. Annenberg has created an offshoot, called Factcheck.org, Annenberg political Fact check, that was supposed to provide unbiased fact check. In reality Annenberg fact check has actively and intentionally defrauded American public in letting them to believe that Mr. Obama is a Natural born citizen and eligible for US presidency. Annenberg fact check intentionally omitted
Definition of Law of Nations (Emmerich De Vettel), stating that natural born citizen is one that is born in the country to parents, that are citizens. They omitted statement by John A Bingham, framer of the 14th amendment, stating that a natural born citizen is one that was born in the US territory to parents that don’t owe alliance to any other sovereignty. Due to the fact that Mr. Obama’s father was not a US citizen and owed allegiance to Kenya and Great Britain, Mr. Obama did not qualify as a natural born citizen and does not qualify for presidency.
Fact check intentionally omitted Hawaii statue 338, that allows foreign born children of Hawaiian residence to obtain a Hawaiian certification of live birth
It omitted the fact that such certification can be obtained based on a statement of one relative only without any corroborating evidence.
It omitted the fact that there was no corroborating evidence of Mr. Obama’s birth from any hospital, nurse or hospital administrator from Hawaii, while there were numerous statements from Mr. Obama’s Kenyan grandmother, Baptist Bishop and ambassador of Kenya about Mr. Obama being born there. If that is the case, Mr. Obama is not a US citizen and will need to go back to Kenya to wait for his Green Card.
As of now American public has only information from Annenberg, a political organization, some of whose members have very questionable moral qualities (to say the least).
My clients, as well as 300 million American, including thousands of members of the military, that are asked to give their lives to defend the Constitution of this country, would like to know, if the Supreme Court Justices, particularly chief Justice Roberts, (that needs to swear the President on the bible), are willing to give a few hours of their time to hear the Oral Argument in defense of this Constitution. They want to know if the justices believe in the Constitution on which this country was built, whether they are prepared to tear it apart in favor of some new world order, conceived by a few billionaires, Trilateral commission and the Bielderberg Group.

Nice job on deleting the post in which you implied that the Bilderberg Group and the Trilateral Commission, among who knows else, are behind Obama's election.
Here's a little tip on using the Internet, though - nothing is deleted forever, especially a blog post.
