In all the faux (and Fox) outrage......
Let's not forget Nancy Takehara.
Who's Nancy Takehara you ask? Not surprising, it's not like she's a 20-something McCain campaigner with mental issues.
No, Ms. Takehara is the 58-year old campaigner for Sen. Barack Obama's campaign that WAS attacked for real last weekend.
Her attacker was 71-year old Ronald Goetsch. While going door-to-door campaigning, Ms. Takehara went to Mr. Goetsch's door. Mr. Goetsch is a McCain supporter and contributor.
Quote: “The next thing I know he’s telling us we’re not his people, we’re probably with ACORN, and he started screaming and raving,” Takehara said. “He grabbed me by the back of the neck. I thought he was going to rip my hair out of my head. He was pounding on my head and screaming. The man terrified me.”
Mr. Goetsch later admitted to the incident.
Let me repeat that, Nancy Takehara's attacker, Ronald Goetsch, **ADMITTED** he attacked her
And to give Mr. Goetsch credit, quote:
“Ronald Goetsch said he will take responsibility for his actions and will wait to see how the matter plays out in the legal system. He indicated he feels regret over what happened.
“He is not happy with what happened. It is what it is,” Karen Goetsch said.”
So, do you think the supposed "feminists" at The Confluence, PUMA PAC, etc., will decry this example of violence against women? Or will they cackle that an "Obot" or "Cultist" got what was coming to her??
What do you think their response would be?
Silence so far. Lines and lines of pity and sympathy for someone who lied about being attacked when she wasn't - and nothing at all for someone who was actually attacked.

They won't say anything just like they won't address any sexism directed at Michelle. Worse, they attack Michelle quite often. Feminists, my ass...

You know I went to the Confluence to see what they are saying about the hoax incident, and as I was reading I came across this comment.
"angelasmith, on October 24th, 2008 at 6:22 pm Said:
The story is a small one anyway. That the silly man from Fox wants to frame it as a watershed on the one side and a game ender on the other side, just shows that some media execs aren’t getting enough bran.
I thought, from the young woman’s picture, that she looked like an Obot. I have no trouble believing an Obot would mess themselves up physically to serve the one. If she is an obot, I wouldn’t think it would be too hard to find out. Friends at school, parents, relatives, teachers should know if the kid had been dwelling deep enough in Obamainsanity to pull a stunt like this.
Either way, it’s sad and it’s trivial in the scheme of things."
WHAT! so know Miss Todd is actually a Obama supporter? That makes no sense at all. People over there at the Confluence is completely insane and they don't even know it.

Right. She started blogging as a conservative two years ago just to set up this incident and make it more believable. Looking at her blog, it seems she even ran for Governor in Texas in 2006 as a write-in Republican candidate...at age 18? No matter what twisted thoughts were going through her mind to do this, two things we can be sure of...this was a hoax and she is a dedicated McCain supporter, not an Obama plant.
And to Gary at the Confluence, you bet your ass that I am gloating over this, sweetie. You look foolish any time you bother to post a word. Yet any time the rest of the world can see what a blithering idiot you and the rest of your hateful, delusional PUMAs really are is a good day. I can think of only two better days to come....November 4th and January 20th. The days when you will finally melt into a puddle of bile.
And save your defense of females everywhere. We heard your response to Christina when she called in to the Confluence radio show and dared to ask a honest, polite and reasonable question that you took offense to. Dared to offer an alternate opinion to yours. If there hadn't been a phone line separating you two, I can easily imagine that you might have reached over, given her a black eye, and carved a G on her cheek for good measure.
Today you fake outrage that we are not outraged and talking about a two and a half year old faked rape case at Duke University. A case that has absolutely nothing to do with either Presidential candidate. Please keep up the show, sweetie. We love to see you looking like the desperate twit that you are.

WTF?!?!
I know, I know - I've been visiting PUMA sites for long enough that nothing should surprise me any more, let alone make me truly angry, but I hadn't been to the Confluence for quite a while (there's enough stupid out there in the other PUMA and RW blogs without risking an OD).
But schizophrenia seems to be have taken full hold over there.
Riverdaughter posts about her projections of misogyny onto the Obama campaign, the DNC and the dreaded MSM (yes, I do know there's misogyny out there, but she certainly doesn't nail it or its true perpetrators in her incoherent ramble):
http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/friday-if-obama-doesnt-condemn-misogyny-we-will-resist/
Eh? Does she even READ her own blog?!
Well, here's a real thigh-slapping hoot from just a day later, posted by the gobsmackingly obnoxious myiq2xu (who I've quoted here before when he's made sexist "jokes" about Hillary, and whose warped worldview other posters have recently commented on):
http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2008/10/25/my-ex-wife-injured-in-accident/
And what was the response from the assembled Confluencers?
Read the comments, if you've the stomach for it. Not a hint of distaste, much hilarity, and even a continuation and expansion of the misogynistic theme.
Wheareas, a day earlier, what did myiq2xu post on Riverdaughter's high-minded "If Obama doesn't condemn misogyny, we will resist" thread? I'll quote him:
myiq2xu, you useless, distasteful, sexist, big-headed dweeb - if you're in any way representative of the GOP's new wave of "feminists", and if Riverdaughter continues to pay lipservice to feminism and to cast stones at others while tolerating such outright casual misogyny on her own blog as you spew, then they're going to have to rewrite all the dictionary definitions of "feminist" before the term can apply to you, your pathetic fan club, or the GOP, you total loser.
Yup. I can spell misogyny. I can also spell TOTAL FREAKING HYPOCRITES.
Roll on the election.

Why the discussion of sexism? A crotchety old man who grew up during world war two assaults a Japanese woman, and you think he cared about that fishy smell between her legs?! He may not be politically correct, but given the time he was born into you cant blame him. I would care a hell of a lot more about this story if he carved her with a knife (would probably care more about this one than the other. This chick is probably at least somewhat attractive).

Heebus - Is that you, myiq2x?

Update: FINALLY, a few (very few) people have piped up on that Confluence thread:
Then some acknowledgement that the history of witch persecution generally concerns the oppression of wise women who were a threat to patriarchy. Then a swift change of subject and on to the next thread. THEN, at last:
Riverdaughter evidently sees nothing wrong with it as she's busy chatting on the current top thread.
None of which addresses myiq2xu's disgusting attitude to his ex-wife (who I reckon had a lucky escape).
