Hillary Clinton continues kicking GOP ass
George Bush has a great new plan for women: let's label birth control a form of abortion!
While this has to be one of the most reprehensible ideas I've ever heard of in my entire life- and truly, it makes me throw up a little in my mouth- there is one Senator standing up to the GOP and kicking ass! I bet Carly Fiorina isn't touching this subject.
Hillary Clinton isn't letting old Georgie boy get away with this idiocy, and you shouldn't either. From her article at Huffington Post:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is poised to put in place new barriers to accessing common forms of contraception like birth control pills, emergency contraception and IUDs by labeling them "abortion." These proposed regulations set to be released next week will allow healthcare providers to refuse to provide contraception to women who need it. We can't let them get away with this underhanded move to undermine women's health and that's why I am sounding the alarm.
These rules pose a serious threat to providers and uninsured and low-income Americans seeking care. They could prevent providers of federally-funded family planning services, like Medicaid and Title X, from guaranteeing their patients access to the full range of comprehensive family planning services. They'll also build significant barriers to counseling, education, contraception and preventive health services for those who need it most: low-income and uninsured women and men.
The regulations could even invalidate state laws that currently ensure access to contraception for many Americans. In fact, they describe New York and California's laws requiring prescription drug insurance plans to provide coverage for contraceptives as part of "the problem." These rules would even interfere with New York State law that ensures survivors of sexual assault and rape receive emergency contraception in hospital emergency rooms.
We've seen this kind of ideologically driven move from the Bush administration before. Senator Patty Murray and I went toe to toe with the Bush administration to demand a decision on Plan B by the FDA. We won that fight and we need to win this one too.

The idea that the Bush administration would even attempt to present the idea of protecting yourself against pregnancy as a form of "abortion" is proof enough that Republicans should never be put in charge of a woman and her body.
Republicans don't know the difference between the words "preventative" and "abortion."
I think it's safe to assume (taking into consideration McCain's Iraq-Pakistan gaffe this morning) that the the Republican party is failing to answer their "3 a.m. phone call" because they are too busy "losing their bearings," while placing themselves "under the bus."
While John McCain plays both sides of the fence on Roe v. Wade we've got George Bush, McCain's old comrade and dear-dear friend- who McCain voted 95% in line with last year- saying that women, essentially, shouldn't even have the right to obtain contraception. And not only should women not have the right, we should let some big-bucks corporation make that decision for us.
What balls. Really, what balls!

Those who said that they would vote for McCstank because they would rather see Hillary than Obama were NEVER hillary supporters. This group is a bunch of lying republicans guised as dems to dirty up our nominee. Let them vote for McCstank, they were never going to for Obama anyway. There is nothing special about this speech, what is said during this visit, nor any of its possible outcomes. Every speech Obama delivers is the same: long on woohoo, short on substance. Obamapalooza Berlinfest '08 is but another photo opportunity. It might as well be The Grind or Spring Break. The entire European/Mideast Tour has been a long, extended episode of the Oprah Winfrey show. Let's give credit where credit is due: she taught her disciple to be 1/3 Rachel Ray, 1/3 Tyra Banks, and 1/3 Doctor Phil. I think the theme song for his trip should be 'I've got the sweetest hangover...I don't want to get over.' The song is as intellectually and sexually retarded as the fawning media combined with the pandering Obama campaign. The real hangover will set in when Obama finally throws the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party under the bus (he's on his way) in favor of the globalist special interests (didn't he say something about 'special interests' - wink, wink - that NAFTA treaty - wink, wink).
The entire voyage is a fatuous and gratuitous spectacle, a modern day minstrel show for the ignorant masses. The trip is a love fest. I wouldn't be surprised if the campaign handed out Extasy branded with Obama's face on one side of the pill and "Change" on the other. His tour has been one big feel-good reality TV experience. I have been in Europe for the last 2 months and I am amused by the naive-te of these old Europeans. Admittedly, the political establishment of Europe is quite ossified and exclusive. For this reason, the smiling, movie star media boy surrounded by the glitz with the artful mouth is lionized. Their support for Obama will make up for thousands of years of guilt. Most frightening however is the manner by which the main stream media has lined up behind him.
I have never seen such an unquestioning, blind faith support for what amounts to a very untested and green politician. While it is true that a clever and manipulative team has made Obama their man for their plan, it is clear that special interests push his agenda as much, or more, than his predecessor. Scratch the surface and you will see more of the truth behind the planned meteoric rise of this unknown. And in time, the buyer's remorse will be felt, and then the "real" reality sets in. For instance, is his support from Hedge Fund directors, Healthcare and Insurance executives a little odd?
The flimflam man, empty suit, will look truly vacuous when he also has no clothes. It is HIGHLY unprofessional, unprecedented, smug, and arrogant for this candidate to try to propose any brokering with world leaders while he is still a presumptive nominee. Furthermore, how can a politician who can't even clean up the streets of his state district broker a deal between a religious and cultural feud that has gone on for eons. Does the Messiah Obama think that he can lift his rod over Iran and part Ahmedjinejad from his pursuit of nuclear weapons? Will his mellifluous, intoxicating, and entrancing words melt the hearts, brains, and tongues of people like Medvedev, Jintao, Bashir, Mugabe, Assad, and others?
I always "hope" that I am wrong about this candidate but man does not live on "hope" alone. And in the coming years man will need to live on bread, water, gasoline, heat, housing, healthcare...These essentials are quickly becoming expensive as inflation and unemployment rise and real incomes stagnate. These essentials are necessary to survival. Hope will not deliver the essentials. It is odd that he cares more about the rest of the world while Americans question whether or not they will have a home or even a cell phone next year. Obama, it seems, only cares for his popularity, Obama and his team have promised a lot, probably more than they can deliver. It is not possible for him to deliver everything to everyone in the US or the world, but, he is giving all of us this impression. This reality will come to damage him in the future.
