There are many different political parties in the United States today. Obviously the two main and more well know political parties are the Republicans and Democrats. Most people know those, but there any others that are out there that have many different views. Politics are a huge issue in our country and many people have a difference of opinion when it comes to what political party they associate themselves with. When it comes to politics, people tend to have strong opinions about international issues, domestic issues, and who is governing our country. Picking the right political party is essential to many people lives, as it is a representation of their values. Ever since our country was formed, and even before that, politics has been a topic that everyone can relate with.
• There are literally hundreds of political parties in the United States. From the American Nazi Party to the Socialist Labory Party, you have many options to choose from depending on your particular views on politics.
• There are new political parties forming every year. Many of them never gain enough members or support to make a difference in our politics today.
• Political parties such as the Modern Whig Party is a modification of the original Whig party with updated views and issues.
• The two main political parties dealing with American politics today are the Republican and Democratic parties. Those two always have a presidential candidate every election that garners enough votes to be relevant. Many other political parties have a tough time going up against these two powerhouses.
• Choosing from a list of political parties can be overwhelming to some. Take some time to do some research if you feel you really want to get involved in politics.
• There are historical political parties that one had considerable influence but are no longer in operation, or have enough members to keep going. Some of those parties had many presidential candidates and elected officials. Politics years ago was a lot different than it is now.
• Some of those historical political parties include the Liberty Party, Anti-Masonic Party, and the Federalist Party.
• Politics today would not be the same if it wasn’t for some of the trials and tribulations that some of these parties went through.
• There are still active political parties that are trying to make a difference other than the two main ones. If you do not agree with the way the Republican and Democratic parties operate, there are many others that exist.
Politics revolves heavily around well funded organizations that are sponsored by many different companies and corporations. Chances are there is a political group out there for you that matches your views and morals. Choosing which one is right for you is the easy part. But being active and trying to gain popularity for some of the lesser known parties is the hard part. So go out there and get involved and maybe you will help build a lesser known political party into a powerhouse.
